In a heartbreaking incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, a three-year-old girl who was allegedly raped earlier this month died during treatment on Thursday at a hospital in Kanpur, police confirmed.
The child had gone missing from her home in a village under the Chilla police station limits on June 3. She was found the next day, June 4, in a forest area, critically injured.

Superintendent of Police Palash Bansal said the child was rushed to a hospital immediately after being rescued. Despite all medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on June 6.
Accused Nabbed After Encounter
The accused, identified as Sunil Nishad (24), was arrested following an encounter and has been sent to jail, officials said.
“Since the girl died during treatment, more sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) will be added to the FIR once the postmortem report is received,”
