Two Bangladeshi nationals, a husband and wife, were apprehended by the Safdarjung Enclave Police during a verification drive in Delhi’s South West District. The couple, identified as 54-year-old Liyacat and his 39-year-old wife Nasreen, had been residing illegally in Delhi since 2012. Following their detention in Green Park, they were deported to Bangladesh through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).

- Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Madhup Tiwari confirmed that the operation follows directives from Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena.
- Police also uncovered a racket facilitating illegal entry and providing forged identification, including Aadhar cards, to immigrants.
Official Statement
Madhup Tiwari stated:
“Following the LG’s direction, we have started identifying and deporting illegal immigrants. In the Southern zone alone, more than 25 cases have been identified, and deportations have begun. Additionally, we dismantled a racket enabling illegal immigration by issuing forged IDs in India.”
This operation underscores the South West District Police’s zero-tolerance policy toward illegal immigration and their dedication to maintaining the rule of law.
