Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) President Rakesh Tiwari has expressed his belief in the remarkable talent of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old prodigy who is set to make history in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Vaibhav, who made waves at the November 2024 IPL auction, was bought by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for a staggering INR 1.1 crore, becoming the youngest player ever to be acquired in IPL history.
Tiwari, speaking about Vaibhav’s potential, said:
“I am very excited, and I truly believe that Vaibhav will perform well. People often ask me who he will become like, but I want him to achieve such great heights that others aspire to be like him.”
As Rajasthan Royals prepare for their opening match of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Vaibhav has already been impressing the coaching staff with his power-hitting prowess in the nets.

Born on March 27, 2011, in Bihar, Vaibhav’s rise to prominence has been nothing short of sensational. In 2024, he made history with a series of remarkable achievements. At just 12 years and 284 days old, he made his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024. In that match, he scored 71 off 42 balls against Baroda in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, becoming the youngest Indian to score a List-A fifty.
On the international front, Vaibhav made headlines for his extraordinary achievement of scoring the fastest youth Test century by an Indian. He blasted a 58-ball ton against Australia in Chennai, setting a new benchmark. His standout performances also helped India reach the ACC U19 Asia Cup final, where he contributed crucial half-centuries.
