12 Arrested After Clash During Team India’s ICC Champions Trophy Victory Celebrations In Mhow

At least 12 people have been arrested following a clash between two groups in Mhow, Indore, late Sunday night during celebrations of Team India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 victory, an official confirmed.

Authorities have deployed security forces across the area, and the situation is now reported to be peaceful. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those involved in the unrest, the police stated.

Superintendent of Police (SP, Rural) Hitika Vasal told media:
“Two FIRs have been registered in connection with the Mhow incident, and arrests are underway. We are reviewing CCTV footage and collecting video recordings to identify and detain those responsible for disturbing the peace. At least 12 individuals have been arrested so far, and further action is being taken.”

Security Measures in Place

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP, Rural) Rupesh Kumar Dwivedi emphasized that maintaining peace remains the top priority, with police forces strategically deployed across vulnerable locations.

“One FIR was registered last night with 17 individuals named. More complainants have approached the police station, and their statements are being recorded. We have detained 12 individuals, and our investigation continues. Representatives from all communities have condemned the incident,” ASP Dwivedi said.

Violence and Investigation

During the clash, several vehicles were set on fire and vandalized, prompting heightened security measures.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG, Rural) Nimish Agarwal reassured the public that strict action would be taken against those responsible.

“There was a clash between two groups during Team India’s ICC Champions Trophy victory celebrations. The situation is now under control. We urge everyone to respect law and order. The investigation is ongoing, and those responsible will be held accountable. Some individuals sustained injuries, and four cases have been registered so far,” DIG Agarwal stated.

Authorities continue their investigation while ensuring law and order are maintained in Mhow.
