Authorities in Madhya Pradesh have arrested a doctor in Chhindwara district following the tragic deaths of 11 children who allegedly consumed contaminated cough syrup.
Officials said the children developed severe complications after being administered the syrup, which is now suspected to be adulterated or of poor quality. Health authorities have launched a detailed investigation to trace the source of the medicine and determine lapses in monitoring its distribution.
The state government has ordered a high-level probe, while the arrested doctor is being questioned for negligence and possible violation of medical safety protocols. Families of the deceased have demanded strict action and better regulation to prevent such tragedies in the future.
