The government of Madhya Pradesh (MP) has said that they will give ₹20,000 to anyone who gives them information that leads to the arrest of Raja Ranganathan, the proprietor of Sresan Pharmaceuticals. Ranganathan’s company made the cough syrup Coldrif, which is said to have killed 20 children in the state.
Factory Sealed and Employee Held
The MP Police teams have made it to the company’s factory in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. On Wednesday, they arrested an employee and questioned him. This happened when the Tamil Nadu government decided to close the factory a day earlier.
Owner’s Status: Rajendra Shukla, the Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister of MP, said that the owner is now hiding. He said, “The Special Investigation Team will soon arrest the owner, Raja Ranganathan.” He is in hiding in Chennai.
Ajay Pandey, the Superintendent of Police in Chhindwara, said that documents have been taken from the sealed company premises and its authorities, and the employees are being questioned. Another officer said that an employee at the factory was being held for questioning.
Raja Ranganathan, the owner, could not be reached for comment since his phone was off. The MP government’s announcement of a prize shows how important it is to find out what happened in the unfortunate deaths, as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) strives to do so.
